LOWER BACK PAIN
Back pain is usually caused by a sprain or strain in the back. Warming up properly before exercise can reduce the risk of back pain.
Back pain is often felt as soreness, tension or stiffness in the lower back, but it can be felt anywhere from the neck and shoulders down to the buttocks and legs. Pain in the lower back (lumbago) is particularly common, although it can be felt anywhere along the spine, from the neck down to the hips.
Sciatica is where the sciatic nerve, which runs from your lower back to your feet, is irritated or compressed. It usually gets better in 4 to 6 weeks but can last longer.
Exercises to strengthen your muscles and improve your posture, manual therapy treatments, such as manipulating the spine and massage, are usually done or recommended by a physiotherapist, chiropractor or osteopath
